Welcome to Dance Uncorked Podcast!

Meet podcast host, Lindsey Jean - a dance artist/educator and wine enthusiast who loves to discuss all things dance over a good glass of wine. Each episode will be accompanied by a special bottle of wine, and most often, a stellar guest dance artist to deepen the conversation. Basic wine knowledge and tips will be shared along the way, exposing the artistry behind wine making, tasting, and pairing! 

Dance Uncorked is a simple and sincere love project that holds space in Lindsey’s arsenal of artistic creations as another way to connect with audiences near and far. Full Bio:

Lindsey Salfran, a native Floridian, has spent over twenty years training in a variety of dance styles from ballet to salsa. She received her Bachelor of Science in Business Management from the University of Central Florida in 2008, with a Minor in Dance. She has over a decade of teaching and choreographic experience and has been employed by top entertainment companies such as Walt Disney World and Royal Caribbean International.

Lindsey and her husband, Anthony, relocated to Oregon in 2014 to pursue a Masters of Fine Arts in Dance at the University of Oregon. It was also in 2014 when Lindsey entered the wine industry, working at Noble Estate Vineyards and Winery on weekends while in school. Throughout her time as a graduate student, she was a Graduate Employee teaching a variety of dance activity courses for the dance department. She performed with the University of Oregon Repertory Dance Company co-directed by Dr. Jenifer Craig and Rita Honka. She was also an inaugural member of Dr. Habib Iddrisu’s African Ensemble, Dema, and successfully choreographed several pieces throughout her graduate career.  

Earning her M.F.A. in 2017, Lindsey began expanding into the Eugene/Springfield community teaching and choreographing for Eugene Ballet Academy, flex Studio, and The Academy of Arts and Academics High School (A3). In 2017 she joined University of Oregon’s School of Music and Dance as a Pro Tempore faculty member teaching Hip Hop until June 2019. Lindsey continues to perform and choreograph in the Eugene/Springfield community with Company Movimiento, a jazz and modern based dance company under the direction of Cynthia Gutierrez. She currently enjoys guest teaching and choreographing throughout Oregon and continues to work in the Oregon wine industry with Hayworth Estate Wines and hosts the YouTube series, One Minute Winery. In addition to a successful career in Safety and Risk Services at the University of Oregon, Lindsey looks forward to more artistic endeavors; sharing work that celebrates and honors vernacular dance forms like jazz, hip hop, and tap.

Lindsey’s pedagogical and artistic beliefs are rooted in her personal values and how she chooses to navigate through life – with curiosity, authenticity, strength, and integrity.
